This policy covers chulavistafirstwaterdamage.com, run as Chula Vista First Water Damage. The site passes requests for help with water, sewage and mold damage to one restoration company. It is short because the site collects little, and all of it is listed below.

What the form asks for

These are the fields on the request form, in the order they appear, and nothing else is on it:

• Your name: so the company knows who it is talking to.
• Phone number: the number the company uses to reach you.
• Email (optional): used only when you prefer email to a call.
• What kind of damage?: water, mold, sewage, or not sure.
• What happened?: your own description of the damage, word for word.
• Add photos (optional): any pictures you attach, stored privately.
• The page you sent it from: filled in by the form itself, not by you, so a request from the sewage page is read as a sewage job.

The form also contains a hidden box that people never see and automated scripts often fill in. Anything typed into it marks the submission as likely spam; it holds nothing about you.

What is recorded with each request

When a request arrives, three things about the connection are saved with it: the network (IP) address it came from, the browser’s own description of itself, and the page that linked to the form. They are used to sort real requests from automated spam.

Cloudflare Turnstile guards the form: in the background, it checks that a person is sending it. That check runs on Cloudflare’s systems under its own privacy terms.

Where your request goes

The details are stored in a database, and any photos in private file storage that only the site’s operator can open. A copy is emailed to the site’s operator and passed to the one restoration company that receives this site’s requests, which uses it to get in touch with you about the damage you described. That company then handles your information under its own policies.

The site is paid by that company for the requests it receives. Your details are not given to anyone else, never put on a mailing list and never used in advertising.

The companies that run the site’s systems

• Cloudflare serves the pages and runs the Turnstile check.
• Supabase hosts the database and the photo storage.
• Resend delivers the emails that carry each request.

Each handles the data only to provide that service.

Counting page views

A few lines of script, loaded from this same domain, report each page view. This is everything they report:

• That a page was opened. Nothing else is reported as an event.
• Which page on this site, such as /sewage-cleanup-chula-vista/.
• The domain of the site that linked you here, if any, without the page or your search.
• The width of your browser window in pixels.

Cloudflare adds what it knows about the connection: the browser description, a rough location to the city, worked out from the network address, and the name of the network. The address itself is turned into a code that changes every day and is then thrown away, which lets the counter tell repeat visits apart on the same day without knowing who made them. The site writes no cookies itself, and loads no outside analytics or advertising tags.

Keeping and deleting your details

Requests are kept until they are deleted. To find out what the site holds on you, or to have it erased, send a request from the contact page saying so, using the same phone number or email you used before so the records can be matched. They will be deleted from the site’s database and storage, and the company that received them will be asked to do the same.

If you live in California, state law may give you further rights over personal information held about you. The same route works for any of them, and using it will never affect a request for help.

Children

The site is meant for adults dealing with damage to a home and does not knowingly collect details from children.
